The function of the Time Charter Contract Management Team (TCMT) is to support Freight Trading in the implementation of their trading strategy through the ownership and management of their Time Charter Fleet. The TCMT manages all policy and commercial aspects of the time charter contracts, as well as monitoring vessel performance and producing management information enabling Freight Trading and Freight Operations to make faster and informed trading decisions. The Crude, Products and LPG TC fleet now sits at approx. 190 ships at any one time and is a mix of long term, short-term and time charter out contracts and the scope is still growing. Commercial Shipping Advisor accountabilities include: Calculate and negotiate vessel performance claims, delivering bottom line value for freight trading desks (around $2 to 3 Million per year) through recoveries of claims Professionalise vessel performance monitoring, and act as point of contact for ship efficiency for the freight trading desks Focal point to engage external service providers on voyage optimisation and analytics Focal point for vessel performance in relation to bunker fuel switchover in view of IMO 2020 Accountable for monthly Market Related Hire (MRH) calculations for Time Chartered vessels Manage relevant MRH processes such as monthly option declarations, hire invoice approvals, identification of hire exposures etc. Provide ad-hoc commercial and contractual advice regarding interpretation of clauses and potential exposures for freight trading, especially clauses relevant to vessel performance (agreeing new Speed and Consumptions, interpreting hull clean clauses etc.) Look for ways to close out disputed claims by liaising with multiple departments in the Shell Group (Freight Trading, Freight Operations, Legal, Claims, Finance, Vetting, Bunker Sourcing, Shipping Technology) as well as external parties (Ship Owners, Vessels, brokers) Identifying areas where there are opportunities to add commercial value, as well as areas where the exposure to value leakage exists Auto req ID: 123848BR Skillpool: Trading Country of Work Location: United Kingdom Employment Type: Full Time Company Description: Shell started operations in the United Kingdom more than 110 years ago.
