05FEB2019 - NEWS - Estonia based Eesti Gaas completes 1500 instances of LNG bunkering in Tallinn Old City Harbour

Estonia based energy company Eesti Gaas has recently completed the 1,500th liquefied natural gas bunkering operation at the Tallinn old city harbor with the Megastar ferry operating between Tallinn and Helsinki. Megastar is serviced by eight Eesti Gaas’s trailer carriers which were purchased especially for this purpose. Two years ago, Eesti Gaas started supplying the ‘Megastar’ ferry, which shuttles between Tallinn and Helsinki, with LNG, and it has now just performed its 1500th bunkering operation with the ferry. In two years, Eesti Gaas has delivered a total of 28 300 t of LNG from various suppliers. Last year, more than 16 000 t of LNG were supplied, while a year earlier 12 300 t were supplied. Eesti Gaas purchases LNG in Russia, Finland, Poland and Lithuania.
