Job description
Heidmar is looking for an experienced Oil Tanker Research Analyst in our London location. 

Assist the Chartering Team to optimize fleet employment, improve vessel revenue performance and improve our competitive edge using AIS and commodity flow data.
Develop fundamentals analysis on the oil freight market with a focus on crude and refined products.
Project market dynamics over a monthly, quarterly and annual horizon using statistical models.
Provide financial analysis highlighting attractive investments in oil/gas shipping.
Sourcing data providers and commercial research. Integrating them with existing data sources / market knowledge to maximize commercial value.
Assist in the bunker hedging strategy & FFA strategy by providing ideas for Bunker Hedging using paper (options).
Provide commercial support for period T/Cs (both short- and long-term) and comparing the spot market with the TCs.
Produce written reports and presentations focusing on both the short-term and long-term market views to assist trading and potential investments by pool partners.
Analysis of the company performance, trade routes, etc. Competitor analysis.
Prepare presentations for marketing team and for pool meetings.
Present fundamentals analysis at pool meetings, internal meetings and 1:1 customer meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree
Strong market knowledge and business/financial modelling skills
Strong understanding of commercial terms
A person with a highly structured and analytical approach in all tasks with excellent attention to detail
Strong written and verbal communication
Self-starter who can work effectively within a team environment
