About The Role

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist for our Global Marine Bunkering portfolio, to support in the development of commercial strategies, execution of the sourcing plan outlined in the strategy and management of the daily bunkering operational requirements.

These includes regular reviews with key stakeholders, contract management requirements, supplier negotiations & supplier relationship management, daily vessel nominations & order management; and dispute resolution.

This role is a great opportunity for a dynamic professional who is motivated to manage the commercial, operational and technical requirements in Marine Bunkering, which meaningful contribute to the delivery of commercially favourable outcomes and optimal value to the business.

Reporting to the Principal Advisor - Hydrocarbons, you will be
Lead daily bunkers procurement for all vessels by working closely with internal customers and suppliers to ensure daily operational requirements are met in timely manner, for example, vessel nomination process and order management process
Resolve any bunker related operational issues promptly with internal stakeholders and suppliers
Develop and implement a comprehensive category management strategy and supply agreements to minimize total cost of ownership and maximize value that will drive competitive advantage and meet Rio Tinto governance requirements;
Develop a rigorous fact base analysis to capture external market dynamics that will be the basis of the category strategy and sourcing program, specifically through in-depth market analysis.
Manage key or complex sourcing projects/negotiations and ongoing management of contracts and supplier relationships;
Drive bunkers related improvement and productivity projects in conjunction with the key stakeholders and suppliers;
Ensure all sourcing projects are delivered using e-procurement platform (i.e. Ariba) and to ensure they meet the requirements outlined in Rio Tinto Procurement and Group Policies, Standards and Guidelines;
Analyse market trends and generate reports required by internal stakeholders

About You

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have
Tertiary Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or Engineering;
Minimum of 6 years of procurement & supply chain experience;
Previous experience with multi-national companies in the Marine Bunkering commercial and/or operational aspect;
Strong commercial acumen with proven contract management and operational capabilities;
Strong project management, problem solving and customer relationship management skills;
Ability to achieve outcomes through influencing and collaboration with others;
Strong Microsoft Office skills (able to create management tools in excel such as modelling and scenario analysis etc.);
Strong analytical capability and the ability to effectively collate and compile data;
Ability to communicate succinctly verbally and in written form with both internal and external stakeholders;
An open and transparent approach and be able to achieve a high level of trust in a matrix environment;
Prior experience in data analysis, reporting and systems design;
An ability to work unsupervised and be a team player;
Flexible to work in multiple timezones and odd hours to support our Global fleet operations
