23OCT2017 - JOB - Market Analyst (Commodity Trading) - Singapore

One of the Trading arms of an Oil Giant is looking for a Market Analyst. The role will be based in Singapore. 

As a Market Analyst, you will be providing support for pricing and operational decisions and market reporting by gathering updates on latest market prices, spreads and margins. Also you will gather and analyze global energy data from multiple sources to perform demand /supply forecasting and market analysis, develop Asian supply and demand balance models, provide views on forward product cracks, refining margins and demand outlook, develop arbitrage models and monitor futures & forward market structure. You will have the ability to combine industry knowledge with analysis of internal and external data to present actionable insights, opportunities and threats for the business to address. 

An ideal candidate would have at least a Bachelor's degree, an MBA would be a strong advantage. Also, you should have 2 to 4 years' experience in a trading analyst role supporting commodity trading to provide analysis and to improve business performance. Experience with a trading desk is preferred. You should also be familiar with Asian market and product specifications. You should have excellent analytical skills to evaluate large amount of data. Strong Proficiency in MS Excel (including VBA), knowledge of the programming langruages (such as SQL, Phyton, and R) is a plus.
