Job description
Job purpose

Manage and drive sales of bunkers to key targeted accounts (China & HK market) and own the process from account opening, generation of enquiries, price and contract negotiation, and payment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of account opening and account development strategy through a detailed understand of the customer requirements and buying strategy

• Manage the key accounts within the region and develop strategy for a sustainable and profitable long term business relationship

• Develop relationships with the key customer stakeholders 

• Lead and develop a team of junior traders on daily sales, marketing and trading activities

• Assist the team to service existing customers and develop new accounts

• Manage and drive the internal process for account opening and credit reviews

• Manage all pre- and post-fixture documentation, payments and settlement of claims and disputes

• Accountable for driving sales targets and performance for own accounts

• Take a leading role within the sales trading team to build the marketing and account development strategy across the Group

• Help develop a understanding of competitors’ strategies and support the Bomin Commercial Director in account development initiatives

• Coordinate with the Supply Manager in identifying and monetising new opportunities

• Work closely with Supply Manager and trading team on bunker trading and sales initiatives

• Seek, support and help develop new business development initiatives to improve sales and margins

• Provide competitor insights to management

Required Knowledge and Skills

• At least 5 years’ experience in bunker trading with a customer interface

• Understanding the shipping, trading, commodity markets including hedging /price risk management

• Deep understanding of global shipping market, bunker practices, operating standards and global supply options

• Outstanding network of customers within the region - China & HK

• High level of drive and commercial acumen

• Highly self-motivated and target-oriented personality

• Excellent relationship management and strong negotiation skills

• Able to handle people from different backgrounds and cultures. 

• University degree, preferably in Business
